Important information to know:

  • Review program details on the Knights website here – link

  • Completing the registration on this page is the first step of the volunteer process for the build event. You will receive a separate notification with a link to the Sleep in Heavenly Peace event page to complete the sign-up process and submit your waiver.

  • On the day of the event only fully registered volunteers will be permitted on the parish grounds – no children or spectators are permitted.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace Bed Build – Volunteer Roles

No experience is required to participate in this meaningful, hands-on service project.

Volunteers of all ages and abilities are welcome, and there is a role for everyone.

Participants will be guided by experienced leaders and placed in a role that matches their comfort level.

Build Station Volunteers

Volunteers will use tools to measure, drill, sand, and assemble bed components in small teams. This role is ideal for those comfortable working with basic tools.

Material Prep Volunteers

Volunteers help organize and move lumber, hardware, and supplies. This role involves light lifting and keeping materials ready for each station.

Sanding Station Volunteers

Volunteers sand bed pieces to ensure they are smooth and safe. This is a great role for those who prefer a quieter, detail-oriented task.

Assembly Helpers

Volunteers assist in holding, aligning, and securing bed pieces while working alongside experienced builders. No prior experience is needed.

Logistics & Support Volunteers

Volunteers help direct traffic between stations, assist with setup and cleanup, and keep the event running smoothly.

Safety & Quality Check Volunteers

Volunteers inspect completed beds to ensure they meet safety and quality standards before moving to the next step.

Painting & Finishing Volunteers

Volunteers help with painting or finishing touches to bed components. This role is accessible to younger participants with guidance.

Packaging & Loading Volunteers (all tasks may not be needed if delivery is not part of event)

Volunteers assist in preparing completed beds for delivery, including bundling and loading materials. Some lifting may be required.

General Volunteers (Flexible Role)

  • If you are unsure where to serve, you can be placed where help is needed most. Younger volunteers should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

  • Important Notes

  • No experience is necessary for most roles

  • Volunteers will be guided and supported throughout the eventAll participants should wear closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothing

  • Anyone under 18 should participate with a parent or guardian
